I have a question i am a 29 yr. old African American Female who is Obese i am 5'3" and weight 275 pounds. I have very large thighs and a big stomach and love handles as well as other fat pockets on m back i also have lyphodemema in my left foot. I am currently eating healthy and trying to loose weight. My goal is to be a size 10 i am now a size 20 please help me figure out the best way to loose this weight. eventually i would like a smaller stomach, slimmer thighs, no double chin and no more Love handles. Please help me with the steps i need to take to get the body i desire i can't go on living like this i am to young and i have two small children 9 & 4 i don't want to be a FAT mommy i want to be a Smoking mommy (LOL).

I encourage you to check out the South Beach Diet. It is important to understand how the phases of this plan work. There are three phrases total. The first phase of the diet lasts for two weeks. This phase promotes the healthy eating of vegetables as well as lean meats (or meat substitutes). This two week period allows lean cuts of chicken, beef, turkey, fish and shellfish. Vegetarian substitutes include soy-based meats, tempe and tofu. Eggs are also encouraged for protein. Note that if the meat or meat substitute has high fat content, its portions are limited. The most plentiful food in phase 1 is vegetables, though some sugary vegetables are disqualified. All fruits are eliminated, as are candy, ice cream and practically any dessert. Sugar-free ice cream, desserts and candy are acceptable, though not actively encouraged. The reason being, this is the stage designed to pry one away from a sugar addiction.
