Gaining weight on a vegan diet need not be as difficult or complicated as its reputation suggests. The American Dietetic Association said in 2003 that properly planned vegan diets are nutritionally adequate for all stages of life and even provided health benefits in the treatment and prevention of certain diseases.

To gain weight on a vegan diet you need to make sure you are getting all the right nutrients. This may be difficult at first but mainly because it is a change from ones normal eating patterns and will require some adjustment.
