Nutrient Dense Foods & Ingredients

These days many people try to avoid those low-nutrition or empty-calorie food products when attempting to lose weight. However, dieters could do with searching out foods that are nutrient-dense. Generally these are the natural produce packed with vital nutrients yet they hold less energy content.

With a diet full of nutritionally packed foods, it’ll mean people can eat a greater quantity of food but still ingest less energy overall. Therefore, a diet of natural produce can provide a negative energy balance so weight can be lost naturally.

Some nutrient-dense foods provide good sources of vitamins and minerals, and others are high in various antioxidants, as well as many other micronutrients that may help prevent certain forms of cancer or other diseases.

Many will be aware of the common nutrient-dense foods like eggs or blueberries, but there are some that are less common, and worth including in a weight loss diet plan.

We do NOT recommend including new foods in your diet until you have consulted a dietician. You may unknowingly have an adverse reaction to certain foods, so it’s best to have tests done first!!!

Foods that are Dense in Nutrients:

  • Berries

  • Pineapples

  • Many other fruits

  • Eggs

  • Brazil Nuts

  • Beans / Peas

  • Soya Products

  • Herbs

  • Seaweed
