Low-Fat Dishes For losing Weight

Summertime Chicken Salad

 

This salad dish will serve up to 4 adults. An ideal recipe to add to any daily diet; low in calories, high in nutrition and taste!

With only 280 calories per serving, this is an ideal recipe to prepare on a regular basis to help with weight loss goals.

 

 

ingredients:

 

  • 2 lean chicken breasts

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar

  • 1 cucumber

  • small bunch chives, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • Salt & Black pepper

  • small bunch of dill, chopped fine

Method:

  1. Chop the chicken into bite-sized pieces. Add 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1 teaspoon vinegar to a pan and set over a high heat. saute chicken for 5 minutes until cooked.

  2. Trim and peel the cucumber, then slice into matchsticks 2.5cm long. Mix the cucumber with the chives in a large serving bowl.

  3. For the dressing, mix together the lemon juice and the remaining vinegar. Season, then whisk in the remaining loive oil.

  4. Add the cooked chicken to the cucumber and chives and drizzle over the dressing. Toss together. Sprinkle over the chopped dill to garnish.

 

This calorie-controlled chicken salad will serve up to 4 people. It will take around 15 minutes to make so, it's ideal for the busy person or to create when back from a long session at the gym!

 

 


 

 

 

Ginger Salmon

 

This is a very quick fish recipe to prepare, it only takes 15 minutes in total. Including a low calorie fish dish in your diet a few times each week is one way to gain good health and aid with your weight loss.

 

In order to stop the fishy smells when preparing this recipe, try rubbing a freshly cut lemon over your hands, knife and the chopping board before preparing the fish.

 

ingredients for serving 4 adults:

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon dry sherry

  • Piece of root ginger about 2.5cm long - thin strips

  • small bunch spring onions - shred

  • 4 salmon fillets - skinned

 

Method:

  1. Mix together soy sauce, sherry, ginger and spring onions in a small bowl. Lightly score the salmon fillets with a sharp knife.

  2. Add the fillets to the bowl. leave to marinate in the fridge for an hour or so. Preheat the grill to a medium heat.

  3. remove the salmon from marinade. Grill on each side for 2-3 minutes, or until just cooked. Remove the onions and ginger from marinade and use as garnish.

 

This low calorie fish recipe contains a low 240 calories per serving. This leaves enough caloric "room" for the delicious dessert below!

 


 

 

Bramley crumb Crunch

 

 

ingredients:

  • Basic Bramley Puree

  • Cinnamon - 1-2 tsp

  • Butter - 75g (3 oz)

  • white breadcrumbs - 75g (3 oz)

  • Rolled Oats - 25g (1 oz)

  • Demerara sugar - 50g (2 oz)

  • Greek style yogurt

Method:

  1. Mix the puree with 1 tsp of cinnamon

  2. Melt butter in a frying pan and add breadcrumbs, oats, sugar and remaining cinnamon.

  3. Cook for 5 minutes stirring frequently until golden brown.

  4. Reserve 1 tbsp of the crumb mixture, then layer the apple puree with the breadcrumbs into individual glasses, finishing with apple topped with yogurt and reserved crumbs.

 

 

 

 

This low calorie desserts serves 4 and has about 127 calories per portion.
