Six Simple Fitness TipsWho doesn't want to get in shape and lose weight? All of us spend our days at the gym or park working hard to burn fat, build muscle, and look our best, but who says it has to be ALL hard work? Here are a few simple fitness tips that will help you to get in shape WITHOUT killing yourself:
HIIT ItWant to get in shape more quickly? Doing High Intensity Interval Training workouts will help you to get through your gym sessions more quickly, and you'll both burn fat and build muscle every time. Do a sprint training session instead of jogging for 45 minutes, or do a 15-minute HIIT workout to shred those muscles instead of doing a long, drawn out strength training session. Spending less time at the gym can help you to have more time to do the other things you want to do.
Play a New SportInstead of spending all of your time working out at the gym, spend a bit more of your time playing sports. Sports can be a fun way for you to make new friends and meet new people, but they are also excellent exercise. You can run around for hours without even thinking about it, simply because you are playing sports with friends. It's great cardio exercise!
Join a TeamDon't hit the gym alone, but sign up for a local workout team and work out with your friends alongside you. One of the main reason that CrossFit has become so popular is due to the fact that it's focused on camaraderie and challenging each other. You'll find that there are many workout teams in local gyms, and you may just find that it's easier to work out if you have other people doing the same thing with you.
Take a New Class
Why not try something that you've never done before? Instead of hitting the treadmill again, take a spinning class. Instead of lifting weights, why not try swimming? Consider Cardio Boxing, CrossFitting, and all of the other awesome classes your gym offers. You may not want to do them every day, but at least a couple of times a week should do it. Taking a class is a good way to change things up, and it will help you get in a brand new type of workout. Trust me, when it comes to working out, mixing things up is the best way to avoid burnout!
Bet on Your FitnessIf you're having a hard time sticking with your fitness efforts, it's time to put your money where your mouth is. There are smartphone and tablet apps that allow you to schedule your gym times, and those apps will charge you a small fee if you don't get to the gym on time. It's one of the best ways to force yourself to get to the gym more often, as who wants to lose money just because they're flaking out on their workouts?
Make Your Holidays ActiveWhy not look for ways to get more exercise, but in places you've never been before! Instead of going on a holiday to the beach and just relaxing, take surfing lessons, walk around the city, and spend time doing more active activities. Go on a jungle hike vacation, or hit the ski slopes. The more active you are during your holidays, the more you will promote overall fitness while doing something fun and taking time off. You'll find that EVERY holiday destination can provide you with active recreational activities to help you get in shape.
