How to Lose Weight with a 2 Week Juice Fast

If you’re looking for how to lose weight fast and easy, there aren’t a lot of healthy options out there.  However, as fast weight loss programs and crash diets go, a juice fast is one of the healthier options.  It involves drinking nothing but thick, smoothie-like juice for a set period of time – in this case, two weeks.

A two-week juice fast can put a bit of a strain on your body, so it is important to consult your doctor if you feel unwell, or if you are not sure if you are healthy enough to go through with it.  If not, consider a fruit diet, or only fasting for a single week.

Here is how to lose weight fast and easy using a 2 week juice fast:

1)    Make your own juice, if possible. If you buy juice you have to be very careful about what goes into it. You can’t have any sugar, flavourings, preservatives or dairy added to your juice, as these will negate the value of your juice fast.  Making your own juice is easy using a food processor.  Good fruits to use as a base are strawberries (frozen), bananas, melons and other berries.  Add a little store-bought fruit juice to bulk out your smoothie.

2)    Drink at least 8 glasses of juice a day. Have one instead of every meal, when you wake up, and between normal meal times.  This will help to prevent you from feeling hungry, and give you enough energy to get through your day.  If your juice is high in calories, mix it with another that is very low fat in order to lose weight fast and easy on a juice diet.

3)    Remember, just because you’re drinking juice, doesn’t mean you can stop drinking water!  You need at least eight glasses of water a day, and juice, tea and coffee don’t count!  In fact, tea and coffee count as negative one glass, so make sure you up your water intake accordingly!

4)    Ease into and out of the juice diet. If you go from three big meals a day plus snacking to the juice diet, you’ll feel like you’re starving all the time and probably won’t go through with it. Reduce your food intake, and switch to mostly fruits and vegetables, a week before you start the 2 week juice fast.  When you’re done, go onto solid fruits with starch and protein only once a day for the first week after your 2 week juice fast.
