In a new, health-conscious age, many people are concerned about the effects of excess belly fat and want to lose it quickly. This has led many people down a dangerous road of drugs and surgical procedures in order to quickly lose stomach fat, while others buy into the schemes and systems out there promising quick and targeted results to no avail.
The truth of the matter is that, outside of undergoing a dangerous and expensive surgical procedure, there’s no real way to “target” that stomach fat specifically. That doesn’t mean you cannot quickly lose fat over your entire body, including your stomach. But it does mean that those dream systems of doing an exercise or eating a berry to lose strictly stomach fat will be a waste of money.
There are many ways out there to help you lose stomach fat in a hurry, but all of them—if they’re legitimate—will deal with losing weight in general while you also exercise your abdominal muscles to achieve some muscle tone while the fat is burning away.
Here are a few quick and nonintrusive ways in which you can work to burn stomach fat.
Tips to Lose Stomach Fat
Quit Drinking
A lot of people don’t realize, but drinking wine, beer or even liquor can be directly attributing to your stomach fat. While it is true that there’s no specific way to target just the belly fat, and thus no food or drink that specifically puts fat on your belly alone, the truth is that the stomach is usually one of the first places fat is stored.
Alcohol contains “dead” calories, meaning that they’re not going to be used for energy purposes. And if they’re not used for energy, there’s only one other option – they’re going to be used for fat stores! And that nasty fat, too; the type of fat that takes a really long time to burn off! So stop ingesting those bad calories. That’s the first step.
Whole Foods
Next up, increase your intake of whole foods and drastically decrease your intake of processed foods, sugars, and other carbohydrates. Eat a healthier diet consisting of fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains, lean meats, and monounsaturated fats. There are plenty of mouth-watering recipes out there you can try. You certainly won’t be limited to egg whites and protein shakes!
Boost your System
Some people will spend months in the gym doing crunches, thinking that they’re slimming their stomach down. The end result is usually minimal weight loss with little to no noticeable difference. That’s because sit-ups and crunches, while great for toning muscle and adding definition, aren’t really metabolism-boosting exercises. They’re not burning enough calories.
Be sure that you’re including cardio in your routines, even if it’s light cardio. You want to get that thermogenic process off and running! That is how you will lose weight.
