Processed Food is Out to Get You

Processed food is just about the worst thing you can eat, as it’s made with almost zero nutritional value – but tons of hydrogenated oils, saturated fats, trans fats, and calories. All in all, if there was any food that you would eat to kill yourself, it would be processed foods. Fortunately for you, not all processed foods are created equal. Some have some nutritional value, and they’re not as bad as you might think.

The foods below are not those foods! The foods listed here are the worst of the worst, and they are the processed foods that you should avoid if you want to have a long and healthy life. They’re loaded with the worst kind of junk, and they’re basically utter garbage – but darn tasty garbage!

Condiments and Dressings

If it’s tasty and syrupy, it’s probably loaded with a little something called high fructose corn syrup. This ingredient helps to make the foods thicker, but it’s basically concentrated sugar. These dressings and condiments are also loaded with carcinogen-promoting MSG, which is the artificial flavor of the foods. What makes them so bad is the fact that we usually just dump the condiments into our food without really thinking about it, as it’s considered something extra. We not only eat these harmful ingredients, but we usually end up eating a lot of them.


Store-bought crackers, cookies, cakes, and anything sweet and tasty is loaded with enriched flour – which has absolutely zero nutritional value. This flour is high in empty carbs, which will raise your blood pressure and lead to problems like diabetes and obesity. They’re also high in sodium, meaning heart problems are in your future. If you enjoy the way it tastes and you don’t bake it yourself, it’s unhealthy as heck!

Breakfast Cereal

I love my Wheaties, but it’s hard to find a cereal that isn’t loaded with sugar. Frosted Flakes, Cap’n Crunch, and all of the other sweet cereals are about as bad as it gets, as they’re made entirely with refined flours and lots of sugar. If they’re not made with refined sugar, it’s usually high fructose corn syrup that makes the cereal taste sweet. Worse still, the corn used to make your corn flakes is often GMO corn. Gotta love Monsanto!

Lunch Meat

The fact that a meat product is called “mystery meat” should give you pause, as you have no idea what goes into your hot dogs, bologna, or ham. If you can’t buy it raw and cook it yourself, it’s not something you want to eat. The meats are packed with “pig product”, meaning intestines, hoofs, noses, and all the other foul things that don’t go into bacon and other pork meats. These meats are also loaded with nitrates, MSG, and all the other foul things you want to avoid.

Granola Bars

Think your kids’ granola bars are healthy? Think again! The high fructose corn syrup used to make the bars sweet is pure sugar – sugar of the worst kind! You’ll feed them to your kids thinking they’re a good choice, but they’ll impact their blood sugar negatively.


Soda isn’t even close to healthy, as it’s basically sugar mixed with water. “Light” and “diet” sodas are made with tons of artificial sugar – aspartame, sucralose, and others. The high fructose corn syrup used to make the soda causes drastic spikes in your blood sugar, and the fact that it causes your pH balance to become more acidic promotes the formation of cancer.

Chicken Nuggets

Your kids may love them, but you have to draw the line here. These tasty treats are made with “chicken product”, once again meaning the scraps of meat that isn’t useful for eating. They are dipped in a whole lot of breading, and they’re deep fried – meaning a very high empty carb and trans fat content. Basically, they’re tasty little killers!
